Spring Preview-Oscar style.

Spring came early! Oscar nominations were announced on Monday. One of the bigger surprises is the Best Picture category. It got a facelift and went from 5 nominations to 10! I think this will give more underrated films an opportunity to get more recognition.

The Blind Side

District 9

An Education

Best Actor

Jeff Bridges, Crazy Heart

George Clooney, Up in the Air

Colin Firth, A Single Man

Sandra Bullock, The Blind Side

Helen Mirren, The Last Station

Carey Mulligan, An Education

  1. biggest surprise is that they actually went to 10 nominees for best picture...IMO makes it less of an honor to be nominated.

i have a feeling that The Hurt Locker is gonna walk away with at least one major award, director or picture..
